Details

The project aims to analyze the legal implications of using theater professionals' likenesses and licensing content for Actor's Pocket Guide’s APG Grow platform. The primary goal is to ensure compliance with intellectual property (IP) laws in the creation and sale of educational material. This involves understanding the legal frameworks surrounding the use of personal likenesses and licensed content. The project will also focus on drafting agreements and legal guidelines for content creators to ensure that all materials used on the platform are legally sound. By addressing these issues, the project will help APG Grow avoid potential legal pitfalls and foster a legally compliant environment for content creation and distribution.

Key tasks include:

- Analyzing current practices and identifying potential legal risks.

- Drafting comprehensive agreements for content creators.

- Developing legal guidelines for the use of likenesses and licensed content.

Actor's Pocket Guide, launched in 2018 by theater director Nicole and technology expert Anatole, is a powerful platform designed to streamline theater production while offering tools for learning and company management. Originally created to address organizational and communication challenges in theater, it now supports actors, producers, and arts educators with features like show creation, cast and crew coordination, sheet music sharing, and task assignments.

With the addition of a learning management system, the platform now offers educational modules focused on performing arts, inclusivity, and antiracism. This allows users to enhance their skills while promoting equity in theater. Actor's Pocket Guide will also eventually include a company management system that simplifies scheduling, financial tracking, and other business operations, helping arts organizations run smoothly from rehearsal to performance.

Nicole & Anatole continue to build a bridge between Broadway and theater communities worldwide, empowering users to create inclusive, well-organized productions that shine.
